Default Studio monitors for Tascam 2488

What would be good studio monitors to use with Tascam 2488 digital
recorder? Don't want to spend high-end money, what would be a good pair
for reasonable budget?
thanx

For what kind of music in what kind of room?

My feeling is basically your monitoring system should be about half your
total studio cost. If you can't hear it, you can't mix it.

Good golly, Scott! Are you including the cost of the room in that
suggestion? Just in gear alone I have around $32k. If I were to
include what it cost to BUILD the studio, we're talking another
$10-15k. Call it $50k invested...

I'm honestly not sure where I'd FIT $25k worth of studio monitors,
Scott. The JBL LSR6325P's I'm using now are about right for our
space...

I'm including the cost of the room treatment that goes with the monitors,
because they are part of the monitor chain. If you've paid for an acoustical
consultant to design the control booth, that cost is part of the monitoring
system price as well. Dunno if I'd include construction costs save those
made specifically for acoustical purposes, though.

Yeah, but they are only a small part of the monitoring system.

Fair enough! Thanks for clarifying where you were coming from Scott.
Makes sense now!
