Default Question about Janglebox

Haven't tried one yet, but from the website (http://www.janglebox.com/) info
I've read, the Janglebox is actually based on the compressor that was built
into the Roger McGuinn Signature Rickenbacker 12-string. OTOH, if you wanted
the *exact* compressor that was used on the old Byrds recordings, it
probably would've been a Fairchild or Teletronix studio unit. I read
somewhere that back in the day that Roger liked that sound he got in the
studio so much that he would take a couple of these big rack-mount
compressors on the road, and would run them between his guitar and amp. I
guess that would've made these the original guitar compression pedals!

does anyone know or has anyone used the Janglebox?Supposed to be
EXACTLY like the compressor Mcguinn used to get that jangly Ric Tone
in early byrds recordings.Price is pretty salty on these ($215) and I
dont mind spending the money but would like to know all the claims
are true or if there is another compressor that would accomplish this
much cheaper. Any and all opinions appreciated
thanks
Jim
