Default sensivity&impedance

If he had said an active mixer and told you that the inputs to the
amplifier were balanced and the outputs of your CD player are
unbalanced (are they?)

yes it's unbalanced
I forgot to mention it doesn't need any 'magic cables' either ( or

Shakti Stones ) to work

I already built a semi balanced cable RCA-XLR, with one end of the shield
disconnected. I used what I had at home, just a good microphone cable with 2
conductor and the shield... I think it will be very good

But there's another inconvenience: the amp has separate L and R

controls.
I don't have the volume control on the cd but there's no problem
and also no tone (bass/treble) controls that most people like to
have

I never use it. I like the sound the way it is.

I need this amplifier because I want to make loud party, so you know you
have to go to pro amps. Because I found that also expensive amplifier with a
lot of watts after the half way they sound distorted and without control.
