Hello all.
So another update on my continued quest to get my tascam 32 operating correctly. Reminder that it had to do with the tape bouncing when you hit play or record. Again IC's were involved. Proper brake tension. And finally, damping fluid? Yep, proper damping of the Tension arms. The back pressure provided by the tension arms controls the tape take up. There is damping fluid that is applied to the spring assembly that controls the tension. They dried out over the years. Problem solved. Machine now works I hope this helps any one with similar problems on the 30 series machines Mike Mueller |
