There are some simple, non-permanent, and relatively cost effective things you can do to help a room. Knock out some first order reflections and trap some bass. A couple hanging absorptive panels and a couple hanging broadband traps is all it takes. It may not be great, but it will be a great improvement. Getting better speakers without getting a better room is less effective than you'd hope. Yeah, but it still stands that crappy speakers will sound crappy in any given room. jak Certainly true. If the speakers really suck, they're the weak link. As they get better, the room starts to become the weaker link. But yes, you need to get to a certain minimum level of quality before there's any point. Luckily, reasonable speakers are available at reasonable prices. -- Jay Frigoletto Mastersuite www.promastering.com |
