Cheers, Gabriele The TLM 103 is an excruciatingly quiet mic. Neumann rang everyone's bell when they came out with it years ago. 7 dB-a selfnoise! Plus relatively HUGE sensitivity. With a loud enough source, you can bring it into a line level input. If you have quiet sources that require more quiet gain than your preamps can provide, the TLM 103 is a good choice. It does mate differently with different preamps. A focusrite RED 2 and a TLM 103 is NOT a good combo. A GML and a 103 is good. YMMV. WARNING: The TLM 103 will hear sound in the next room even your ears don't hear. For more info, please check the equipment review archive on my website.
