It uses genuinely high-end components, and in true high end fashion, there's already a cottage industry of modders sprouting up around the Squeezebox. If it doesn't sound better then it isn't higher anything IMO. Having tested various xover components of various prices and reputations, they all tend towards hype withiout any substance. Aside from non-inductive resistors, nothing I can recall made any sonic difference, so I tend to discount any claims of "high end" components. YMMV |
