Default Software for Time Compressing

Is there any software other than ProTools that does a reasonable job of
time compressing an audio file by about 5%? Everything I've tried sounds
like crap. They are voice-only files.

Cool Edit/Audition do this easily, and cleanly if you choose options wisely.

Also Wavelab. Excellent algorithms. If you have any interest in
rolling your own code, the best algorithms going are available in
library form he

I use Pro Tools, and it's been a long time since I tried anything else
for that particular task, but back in the days when I did, WaveLab did
the best job of it among the various apps I tried. That was v3. At
that time it was MUCH better than Sound Forge.

Goldwave (shareware) may do it for you - it has pitch/time features.
