Is anyone using Cardas 2x24M microphone cable?
If so what do you think about it? It is not configured as a star quad but instead uses twisted pair. In addition it has teflon dielectrics and three shields. I’m currently using Blue, Monster 500 and Mogami 2534. |

Someone over on the Gearslutz board was recommending this 2x24M
(otherwise known as "Blue Copper") mic cable very highly, but at $14/foot I'm not in any hurry to try it first hand. |

I am not a fan of teflon dielectric for mike cable because it makes for very difficult wrapping. What it mostly buys you is low triboelectric noise anyway, which should not be a huge issue with a 600 ohm line. The whole reason we run 600 ohm balanced lines is because it minimizes cable effects. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra. C'est suisse, et tres, tres precis." |
