Default Does anyone recognize this band?

A while back I bought a Shure dynamic mic at Radio Shack and when I got
home and opened the package, inside under the mic and documentation
there was a CD-R in a clamshell case with no markings.

Not sure if it was inadvertantly left there by someone who might have
bought and returned the mic or it was some kind of "mystery promo" by
Shure or what. They don't sound like a bunch of garage band kids, it
sounds like a professional recording of a live concert. Anyway, I've
put up a quickie link to an mp3 of about 30 seconds off one of the
tracks, curious if anyone can advise who this is. Pardon my
cluelessness if they're some hugely popular band, it's not in the part
of the musical universe that I spend much time in.

On one of the other tracks, the leader says "My name is John and we're
going to play some songs I wrote with the band..."

Thanks

It wouldn't be the man himself would it?

Okay, thanks to all who answered, solves the primary mystery (Googling to
see who John Mayer is). I'm wondering if there's some obvious explanation as
to why a bootleg (burned not pressed) copy of this album ended up in an
ostensibly new mic package at Radio Shack. Is John Mayer on Shure's payroll
in some way?

Oddly, this is the second time I've come into possession of something like
this. A DVD burner I bought new had a DVD-compressed to-CD copy of the movie
"Shall We Dance?" in it when I bought it. I was surprised how good it
looked.
