A client wants me to add CD Text so he can see Track IDs on his auto and
home cd players (which have the capability of displaying CD Text info).
This is a good client, so I'm excited to give him what he wants. Anybody
got a favorite CD burner with CD Text write capability?

YOu might want to double-check the manufacturer web sites to be sure but:

Just about every current or recent Plextor burner

Just about every current Liteon burner.

If you mean a standalone, I know the HHB CDB800 does it although the
user interface is annoyingly bad.

If you mean a computer-based system, as far as I know all the software
can do it. I have an old Sonic system here, and GEAR, and they both have
no problem.

I think most any "modern" burner should support it, as long as your burn
software does. I've used Nero for years; you can get a demo of the
latest version at www.nero.com

Thanks for the input. I thought that should be the case; however, I've
found some conflicting information between manufacturer's info and review
info. I just ordered a Plextor DVD/CDR burner, which should do it. I have
a Toshiba/Samsung burner about eight months old does not support WRITING CD
text; it will read it. I have Nero 6 and the burning software incorporated
in Adobe Audition; both do CD Text.

The "Nero InfoTool" installed with Nero should tell you if the burner
supports CD-Text.

Thanks. I forgot about Nero Info Tool. I'll check it out. Meanwhile, my
'throw money at it' solution, a new Plextor burner, should arrive today ;-)

If you've got one that comes with Plextools then I find Plextools very
handy for adding CD Text to a CD.

Cheers

James.
