Digi-Key carries various Panasonic and Knowles omni capsules.
Call 1-800-DIGI-KEY and ask for a catalogue.

If you want a Crowm PZM, then buy one, if if you want to experiement

Actually, the Genex communications mikes capsules might be a reasonable
choice. Their omni rolls off around 8 KHz like the Crown capsules do.
That would make it a good choice for PZM mounting.

All of the Panasonic and Knowles capsules have much too good high end
extension for this sort of thing.

But I thought you wanted this to make lav mikes?

Join "micbuilders" on Yahoo groups. Lots of packrats and tinkerers there.
It is difficult to find bare condenser elements, at least aside from the
Panasonic types, but there are some sources.
