That is copyright infringement to which you have just confessed.

Legally, that is no defense.

simply the sharing of information that the author obviously thought
should be made available to as many people as possible.

Your claim of mindreading aside, please note that I am not
attacking you, merely pointing out that you are making yourself
legally vulnerable.

You might also note that I didn't attack anyone or their comments regarding
this issue. What I did was send an e-mail tot he people who have the
document on their website and notified them of what I did and offered
compensation and apologies.
