My Yamaha RX-V740 (current model: RX-V757) was made in France or so it
said on the box.

Look at small mfgr's. I am not aware of EU but maybe Arcam? In the US,
McIntosh.

The only product line Arcam is producing in China are AV receivers + one
DVD line.

Hello,

In response to another poster, unfortunately, all of the ARCAM surround
receivers are manufactured in China. The FMJ-AV-8 processor and the
FMJ-P7 amp are made in England, but are at an entirely different price
point. See the ARCAM web site (www.acram.co.uk) for more info. The
AVP700 surround processor/preamp is also made in China.

Interesting that ARCAM would choose to make the surround stuff in
China. Don't they want to play in the high end area, with one selling
point being made in England?

IIRC the Rotel website makes some claims about everything being built in
the UK, but I never believe stuff like that. I don't know if the UK is
euro enough for your sensitivities.

Rotel is a Japanese company whose products are now mostly made in
China. You may be thinking of NAD, a British company whose products
are mostly made in China. I believe that the top Arcam receiver *may*
be UK-assembled, but I know that the cheaper ones are - you guessed it
- made in China. OTOH, who cares where it's made?

European commision does :-) ... concerning projects they are funding -
all stuff have to be EU-made.
