Hi,
I just got a Harman Kardon DPR 1005 and a Klipsch 7.1 system with an SW12 II subwoofer. The sub has a L/R RCA and otherwise has inputs for speaker wire. I have a connection from the LFE preout on the receiver to one of the RCA inputs on the sub, but I get no signal whatsoever. If I hook my cd player straight into the sub, I get sound, though not all too much. Any suggestions? I have tried setting my front/center speakers to both loud and soft and have the receiver set to output LFE and L/R bass frequencies to the sub. Any ideas on tests I can do to determine if the receiver is actually outputting anything and/or if the sub is blown? Thanks, Larry |

What I meant to say was that I've tried setting my front/center
speakers to both large and small, with no result for the sub, though on "large," I do get bass frequencies from the front/center. -Larry |

Some activate the LFE speaker, but some might not. |

I just tried many different modes and can't get a sound out of the sub
in any of them... |

Obvious checks - is the sub switched on, and what's the sub's volume setting set to? Is there a switch for line/speaker input. and is it set correctly? You can check the output from the receiver with a digital multimeter set to AC. It might be easier if you have the receiver playing a 50/60Hz sine wave. Tim |

Well, after swapping cables, trying many modes and settings, it kicked
in and now it's working great! Thank you all for your time and consideration. I really appreciate it! -Larry |
