The owner of Trimble Hot Springs in Durango Colorado is a friend and was one
of the big movers and shakers of the Telluride Jazz Festival for many years

He was talking to Ellis Marsalis earlier today and they are setting up a
foundation to help the flood victims. He asked me if I would give him a hand
putting this together.

I've got an experienced and very good sound man with a nice A & H board who
has tentavely committed to this.and it looks like this will be coming
together either on the afternoon of the 25th (a Sunday) or the following
weekend..

All gate proceeds will be donated to this Marsalis foundation. If any of you
jazz musicians are interested and would be able to come and donate your
time, send me an e-mail at or give me a call at
970-375-7081. I'll try to get some additional info on this foundation ASAP.

I can arrange free accommodations. It's absolutely beautiful here right now.

It's absolutely beautiful there ALL the time... wish I'd have stopped in to
meet you when I went thru this summer. I caught the Ouray disease (it's
worse than G.A.S.) so I'll be back someday.
