Hi
I'm hoping for help before I go out and buy a laptop. I'm using Pro Tools LE from a Digi 002 rack, and I want to try and make it portable. Funds are limited unfortunately. At the moment I'm thinking of buying a G4 iBook with only 12" monitor (cos it's a couple of hundred pounds cheaper basically), and with RAM upgraded to 1GB and a 60GB hard drive. This comes in at around =A3850 GBP. This laptop is listed on the digidesign website as compatible with protools LE systems, but what I'm wondering is whether I should take that with a pinch of salt? I'd like to be able to use all 8 Digi 002 inputs simulataneously to record drum kit etc., so does anyone know if the iBook will start to crack up at this point or would it cope ok? I have an external firewire drive too if that will affect things. Thanks very much Paul |
