What's the general opinion on the isa 215. I know its basically the 110 in
a rack, but does anyone have experience with it? Does it have any physical
issues? I've never understood why focusrite stopped making the 110 in the
first place.

One of my favorite mic preamp/eq's....make that my FAVORITE mic
preamp/eq. Clean, transparent, very smooth eq.

They do seem to have problems with the controls due to aging
though...I've seen the gain switches go bad, and the gain trim pots get
dirty after awhile too.

One studio I was working at had one that was unusable because of
multiple dirty pots; they had it cleaned ultrasonicly, and it was much
better, but I still only trusted one channel, the other was still a bit
too flakey for comfort.

I don't know if the parts are still available from Focusrite (I suspect
they are), and while they're not exactly easy to replace, they're not
nearly as bad some stuff I've had to work on!
