Sure but, what do you have available to you locally or are you going the
a'gon route? Revel M20, Linn Katan, Polk Lsi-9 are a few examples that fit in your dollar range. The B&W 602's while a floor stander and nice sounding are only $750. They're also the only B&W in your price range or even twice that amount I've heard that doesn't sound disjointed. If you really like the B&W 805's then listen to the M20's before lunking down your cash. The M20's are a much better sounding speaker even though the cost is the same. A-gon has a used Sycamore covered M20 set for around $1200. Best, John "Matrixmusic" wrote in message ... Any good recomendation on monitors in the $1-2k price range kevin |

kevin Depends on what you mean by monitors. Do you mean some kind of 12" 3 way that one might find in a recording studio, or simply a good pair of speakers for listening to 2 channel stereo? NHT, PSB, B&W, and several other companies make excellent speakers for the latter application. Being of a DIY bent, I would pick the D'Appolito designed kit available at www.madisound.com the Thor. It's an MTM with excellent frequency response that will go to 30 Hz in a typical room. |
