Default Mixer Upgrade

Hey guys,
How you all doing today?

Anyways, I have a couple questions. First of all I have a mixer.

Model: Inter-M MX-1242A.

What is your opinion on this mixer? Is it good? This is what I have
now, but a couple channels are dead on it. What would you suggest that
I get as a new mixer as an upgrade from this one? This one has 12
channels, so I would like at least that, but not more than 16 becuase I
need it to fit in a rack mount. I would like the same type of mixer,
but I don't know if Inter-M is a good brand or not.

Also, if I was to sell this mixer, what do you think I will get for it,
and how much would you pay for it? What is a good asking price for
ebay? It is in Used conition, but works.

Please let me know.

Thanks,

Jim O.

No, it doesn't. You said two channels are dead. That's not in the usual
definition of "works".

How much did you originally pay for it?

Peace,
Paul

I think we paid $1,000 for it. We bought it used though.

My mistake, there is only 1 dead channel. The rest are working fine. I
was told someone though that it is fixable, it is just that we don't
know if we should put money into an old mixer, or if we should upgrade.

Well, the fact that two of the channels aren't working and it would
cost more than the price of the console to even _look_ at repairing it
is sort of an answer to your question, isn't it?

Inter-M is a big Korean company that sells to the MI market. I would sort
of recommend avoiding _any_ of the MI-grade gear.

It is not salable. If two channels are dead, it does not "work."

Well, it might be salable as a fixer-upper, provided the purchaser was
willing and able to fix the bad channel. I'd say that, under those
circumstances, assuming there are no scratchy pots, $25 would be a fair
price. With buyer paying shipping.

Peace,
Paul

Chop up the audio and set the track delay to 0 seconds, it's usually 2
seconds.
