Default Backing up q

OK, maybe I should be asking this in some newsgroup about software or
archiving or something, but someone here must know the answer.

I backup radio production projects daily onto DVD+R with Nero Express.
Often I've had to update a large project with a new tag or added concert
date. I create new projects for each update usually so the only changes in
a large folder are often the folder date, a new (small) project file & one
or two new audio files.

I click No on replacing all the files that haven't changed, but this is
tedious and once you get a rhythm up there's the danger you might click No
on one has changed. There isn't a No To All type button. Obviously I'm
after software that will recognise and not add unchanged files to a DVD that
already contains an earlier version of the same project.

I have and use backup software elsewhere (that came with the drive), but
this only works on hard drives or rewritable disks formatted for drag 'n'
drop. I much prefer to backup important commercial work daily to write once
disks, having had my share of issues with flaky drag 'n' drop DVDs & CDs.

I'm using Sonar with per-project folders by the way.

Not a perfect solution, but I'm using ACDsee. It's pretty much like
windows explorer with a couple added features. There is an option "skip
if identical" when dragging files from one folder to another. If the
file name doesn't already exist, the file is added. If the filename
exists and the file info is identical to the new one, it skips it
without bothering you. If it has the same name but different file info,
it asks you what to do.

Good idea. I would never have thought of using a graphics program for
manipulating audio files, but the ADCSee replace/skip feature may work quite
well for this application.
