Regardless of whether it made the rounds of blogs or whatever, it's obvious

Petty to call them on it, when it's obvious what they meant? Yes sir,
that's probably so. Petty to point out when the meaning is not
obvious? No. Reading skills vary widely, and folks whose first
language is NOT english are also reading.
(Also, I acknowledge that intentional misspelling has its place.)

But you know, what the ****... let's all just cheapen the typewritten
word. You all can figure out what it means, so why should I even at
least try to use proper spelling? Damn near everything else meaningful
in this world has been cheapened, with such stellar results.
Witnesseth even the industries represented within this newsgroup. You
know; the sound sucks, but everyone knows it's supposed to be music,
so who cares if it's sloppy, overcompressed, and so forth.

Spell checkers are SO complex to use, and the poster using one can't
possibly improve them self with the utilization thereof. Right?

It is a self respect thing incumbent upon the poster, but NOT the
respondent unless the meaning is not clear. If one has so little self
respect or attention to detail that they cannot spend the extra few
seconds to have the DAMN MACHINE check their spelling for them, then
perhaps the contents of their post should be weighted accordingly.
Respect is generally earned, how much do you generally respect someone
lacking self respect? "I don't care enough to address details that I
don't even have to fix myself." Put THAT on your resume, and wait for
the gigs to roll in.

Depends on how
much you value someone else's advice.

No. It depends upon how much the poster values the advise they are
giving. But I really don't expect a majority around here to even come
close to understanding that, experienced and knowledgable as they
might be.

Party on, Wayne!
