Default work area/speaker question

hello everyone,

i saw a really cool table at Staples. It was only about $119 and had a
quality slide-out keyboard tray, nice style and workmanship.

it was glass surface(s) with metal frame.

what would it be like to take something like this and put a set of
Lipinski L-707's on this and work at close range?

it would be nice and tidy, but i'm not sure if there would be audio
compromises that would make it a "waste" of the Lipinskis.

The room you're in matters more than the desk. Are you happy with the
room sound?

Also, the speakers should be placed on separate stands. If you don't
have the space for that, a set of Auralex mopads might help a little
if you have to have them on your desk.

You should make an effort to ensure the table doesn't vibrate at
certain frequencies. (Try running a tone generator at various low
frequencies to see.)
