Hi, I've had a CD/DVD problem (the third time it's being returned to Apple for it) which prevents the disk from being inserted in my Powerbook G4. AppleCare says "doesn't sound good" (it makes an audible whining noise) and so it's going back for a fourth time in less than a year. Can I move the "music" folder to an external firewire drive as a backup for my iTunes and other music that was recorded using Logic Exp.? (I'm a musician/composer and don't want to lose things I've done). I'd also not want to have to go through putting all of the music (all legal) back on the iPod as it's time consuming. Thanks, Karen If you have a CD recorder, 1) Make a new playlist named "backup" 2)go to iTunes burning preferences select "data cd" as disc type 3) select all songs in your library (all) (presuming, your own stuff) and drag them to "backup" playlist you created. 4) switch to playlist, make sure its stuff you want, keep good quality cd-r's handy and click "burn" I am only a "listener", you may wait others comments. E.g. I can rip stuff again from my original cds, its not the case for you. (adding rec.audio.pro to groups list) Ilgaz Ocal |
