If you have a CD recorder,

1) Make a new playlist named "backup"
2)go to iTunes burning preferences select "data cd" as disc type
3) select all songs in your library (all) (presuming, your own stuff)
and drag them to "backup" playlist you created.
4) switch to playlist, make sure its stuff you want, keep good quality
cd-r's handy and click "burn"

I am only a "listener", you may wait others comments. E.g. I can rip
stuff again from my original cds, its not the case for you.
