It completely blows my mind that Sennheiser, who otherwise has *killer* stuff (the two headsets gotten at the same time are theirs, as is the older ew100 kit with a Countryman E6 that our Pastor uses), hasn't noticed that the E835 SUCKS. Using the identical body and bringing with it the same failures for a wireless mic where the whole point is to be able to carry it around is just insane. The pattern is also extremely wide and sloppy, in addition to the handling noise issues. The e855 is considerably better in both regards, for not all that much more money. I do not know why the e835 is made, because I think it gives the rest of the Evo line a bad name. My suggestion is to look at AT's kit, which is working great for us, and sounds great (for us at least, better than most any other mic we have except the Audix OM-5's and the *really* old-school Telex handheld). It's almost exactly the same price, and if you get two they rackmount without an extra $35 frame. My experiences with cheap wireless have all been pretty disasterous, but how much more money can the e855 head for the wireless pack be? --scott -- "C'est un Nagra.
