I can be a strange old bird at times - one side of me enjoys the
wonders of the modern technology of making music, while the other loves the sound of older equipment and more organic songs. Take most recently - on my iPod I've been listening to both FM (a Canadian prog trio best known for giving the world mondo bizarro violinist/mandolinist Nash The Slash) and The Ghastly Ones (a surf-rock trio from California probably best known for doing the soundtrack to the Spongebob Squarepants Halloween episodes). And as I did, the sound of tremelo and reverb-drenched guitars, a surfy teen beat and deep synth pads somehow began to meld together....
