I remember reading something about 40 db is about whispering level, 60

about this level. . . etc.
Is there something like that around?
I just wanted a general idea of how loud 17 db's are and to look at

many years ago someone told me that at a live rock concert they were mixing
FOH at they meaured nerarly 140db at the desk.
needless to say i explained it to him and he never tried to impress me after
that.
