Most commerical products that have infra red remote controlled volume
(and other voltage-controlled parameters) use digitally controlled
attenuators rather than motor-driven pots. The place to look for
remote controlled motor drives is probably a robotics newsgroup or web
site.

Garage door opener remote control?
Or maybe a one-axis model airplane remote?

Connect it to a servo or even a reversable DC motor, gear the motor down
to the pot, and you're good to go.

There have been a couple of those published in electronics mags in Aust.
Check www.siliconchip.com.au, though the older one may have been published
by Electronics Australia (which you'll also find archived at that site).

If you already have the motor driven pot then you just need a remote
control, and add the driver circuitry, but if you want a kit, possible

A fairly recent one was an infra-red driven job. I built an older uhf
type device and added it into my loungeroom amp.
