Default Mackie Monitors? Anyone running a special?

Any outlet running a special on the 824's?

and question from me: What do you think about Mackie HR 626. Did you compare
it with Adam P11?

You should probably listen to the new Genelec 8000 series as well.

I didn't compare the 626's with the ADAM P11, but I did compare them with
Genelecs, Tannoys, Dynaudio, and some Fostex cheapies The Mackies were the
worst of the lot.

So which monitors in the Mackie price range
($1500 for the pair) did you like?

Up that by $250-300 and you could have a pair of Genelec 8040As.

I bought a pair a Event ASP8s, and they are great. Retail $1500/pr and
about $1300 street. Have a listen. I feel I can trust these speakers to
deliver an accurate mix. Solid bass, even mids and smooth top-end. One
review I read said they had a smoother high-end than the Mackies,
probably due to the "Magnetically shielded 1" diameter ferrofluid-cooled
soft dome neodymium radiator".

A model made with a funny shaped cone. Probably discontinued.

You can probably find the active Dynaudio BM6a's for around $1650.
They are pretty honest monitors I think - even when I have wished
they weren't.
