(my apologies if this is a recently discussed topic: my news browser
doesn't keep much history...) long time reader. occasional poster. Am a current PT Mix system... am 'upgrading' of sorts to current PT 6.x LE with a Digi 002 (will handle my voxover needs just fine) Waves tells me 2 things: i need to upgrade my Waves Gold bundle from 3.x 'TDM' version to current 5.x version for 'Native/RTAS', which I understand just fine. Also, sign up for WUP plan, which appears confusing & costly. I'd ask my local dealer for details, but he gave up couple yrs back... and Swee****er is pretty slooooow on the returned phone call thus far. ![]() Do I understand the WUP plan to be an annual fee...?? (Waves website generated an 'upgrade' fee close to 40% of new purchase price. seems kinda steep. or does this fee slide for add'tl years...) Because Waves authorizes via iLok, if one doesn't pay the WUP fee annually, does that affect authorization...?? If WUP fees prove to be outrageous, am in need of recommendations for other RTAS plugs for my world of voiceovers, specifically: EQ with visual display of curve. McDSP?? Focusrite?? Reverb digi 002 comes with Bomb Factory compression plugs & Maxim for limiting, so I think i'll be set in this area... unless you r.a.p. guys tell me they suck... ![]() thanks for your input. joe -- www.joeaudioproductions.com 402.341.9153 |
