Hi,
I have an Aardsync II that I have been using for years now with my Pro Tools Mix Plus system. I've never had a problem with it, until now, I think. For the past few weeks I've noticed random blasts of white noise and clicking coming through my system, it's loud enough to peak the meters on my Presonus Central Station. I've worked with digital audio long enough to know that clicking and popping in your audio usually means a timing issue with the interface. As if that weren't bad enough suddenly today my audio just went dead and all I had was a buzzing sound. Not quite like a 60 cycle hum, but similar. I started trying to narrow the problem down and sure enough, as soon as I switched off the Aardsync, the buzzing stopped instantly. I turned my Furman unit completely off and back on again and the buzzing stopped, but I have a feeling this is the start of a Aardsync failure. Anyone know of a place I can contact about this? I did a search for Aardvark and found a useless website that doesn't seem to even be operated by them. Are they out of business? Anyone know where I could get this repaired if necessary? Failing that, what would be a good replacement unit? I was told this Aardsync II was better than the actual Digidesign USD generator, is that true? Any info would be much appreciated! Thanks, -S |

Hi there, I experienced similar failure with my Aard Sync II recently
too, and have been unable to contact Aardvark, and was told they are bellyup. I was able to send it to Aardvark just before they stopped replying, they sent it back stating it would cost more to fix than they thought I would wanted to spend..Thanks!! Any help as to who could repair these units, I 'd also appreciate hearing from you. Hi Ken,
So what did you replace the Aardsync with? I'm thinking of picking up a Digidesign USD unit off Ebay as they are about half the price of the Aard. I'm going to continue searching in the meantime for a repair place for this Aard unit. If I come across any place I will post a follow-up. -S On Wed, 26 Jan 2005 13:50:05 GMT, Ken wrote: Hi there, I experienced similar failure with my Aard Sync II recently too, and have been unable to contact Aardvark, and was told they are bellyup. I'm currently using my Rosetta 800 96k's word clock out to supply clock
to my digital board. I hear the Apogee is absolutely superb, you may want to check into that if your wallet can stand the heat! Any one that knows of someone who can repair a Sync I ,I'd be greatful to hear from them Ken SplaTTercell wrote: Hi Ken, So what did you replace the Aardsync with?
