I have an Symmetric SX-202 which is without the proper power supply (wall wart).

The specs are 16 volts AC @ 500 ma.

Jameco distributors and numerous other electronics parts stores sell these
to the home burglar alarm trade. I made a swap like this about a year ago or
so, no problemo.

It's rated at twice the current as is needed, which simply means there's
plenty of reserve capacity.

Contact Symetrix. Cheap and plentiful.
