A friend of mine has some stuff in an old program called vision that he
wants to use. He doesnt know anyone who has the program anymore. Anyone
have it? Can it still be used? Can I use (from what looks like a download
page) a copy with my old protools rig running OS 9.2? Any help would be
appreciated.

I have an original copy of Gerry Bassermann's "Looking Into Vision" by Opcode
Systems on VHS tape. It's a pretty thorough tutorial on getting started with Vision,
but I doubt it will help solve or even give clues to any compatibility or driver issues
that may come up. It's pretty old software, but it was nearly flawless for me on a
33 mghz Mac IIci which I just finally threw in the trash can when I moved my office
after Christmas. It was a breeze to learn and very sophisticated in it's day. I don't
really see why it wouldn't still be so today.

For some reason, I couldn't bear to throw away the video... even though I trashed
the Mac and passed on the software years ago. If you want the hour and a half
instructional video (or if any one would care to have the antique VHS in the original
sleeve from 1992) send me an e-mail with your address. FCFS...

If you don't have any luck, I can try calling the guy who took my software floppies
and see if he still has them. It was "Vision" that I had, not 'Studio-Vision'... although
StudioVision just might read his Vision sequences, and if the parts were properly
titled, new sounds (synths) could be substituted for the originals.
