You can buy brand new flange and screw sets from Acrometals for $3 each.
Tape Warehouse stocks them. You gotta put the three screws in yourself,
though.

OK, next time I want to screw myself, I'll order some. I suspect that
Don is selling the complete reel, with the hub. The flange kits
assumes that you have a pancake of tape on a hub and want to put
flanges on it.

I suppose we should harass poor Don further and ask if the hubs to his
reels are metal (that you get with real metal reels that might be
worth $5) or plastic (that are at the core of the pancake and work
just fine).

Still, I would think that a buck or two would be a fair price for
someone who wanted to get rid of a surplus of reels, to a person who
needed some empty reels. At $5, he obviously doesn't want to get rid
of them as much as he wants to take in some serious money.

You can buy hubs for another fifty cents from Acrometals too, if you want.
Tape Warehouse stocks those too, though I never bought any because I always
have leftovers from pancakes.

Hi..I was the person who posted the ad . I wasnt sure what the reels would be
worth used so I just took a guess at the price. I did say OBO too just in case
I was off base. Sooooo if anyone needs some of these make me an offer. I will
only charge the amount of the actual shipping cost from CT....I also do have
some 14" 1/4 reels..best offer on those as well...

If the 14" reels are Precision reels (which have six screws instead of
three), they are actually worth something. Acrometals makes those too,
but not so cheaply.

Standard reels and flanges aren't very expensive if you buy them as kits,
but if you have a huge number of them you can make it up in volume.

Complete reels - flanges, hubs, even screws and the other side of the
screw! These reels are made of unobtainium.

Or, I could go back into sales, and have ten conversations about them
before a customer makes up his mind.
