Going into the studio soon with a male artist who has a very powerful,
soaring, but sometimes edgy character to his voice, not unlike Bono...perhaps with a little Billy Idol thrown in. Everytime I've tried recording him in the past, using a variety of mics, I've ended up with a sound that is much smaller and thinner than I was wanting. Mics tried so far have been Sony C800G, AKG The Tube, SM57. Any suggestions on mics possibly not in my cabinet that I may want to try to get a more larger-than-life sound? thanks in advance |

I didn't ask about the rest of the vocal path. |
