Default ???Alesis Mixer???

Just had to return Alesis MultiMix 8USB Mixer
that died shortly after purchase.

Is it isolated incident or design flaw?
Any experiences?
Please post or email.

It's the latest trend - using customers for quality control. Everything
from hard drives to microphones. Western Digital really blazed that trail
with their 8mb cache hard drives, rediculous return rate, a local post
office clerk said they sent out 6x as many WD drives as all other brands
combined, but people bought them anyway based on the specs and price.
You're lucky if you can get your money back, typically they just send you
another unit, sometimes even refurbished. The good news is that most
defective units die promptly, so if it lasts a month it'll last 5 years.
The alternative is higher prices, so don't cry foul too loud.

Hmmmmm..........interesting. I never knew that. Guess I was lucky. I'm
running a 100G/8MB a 120G 8MB and acouple of Raptors in RAID 0 with nary a
glitch.............now if you want to talk crap, let's talk about the
rebadged Quantum drives that Maxtor marketed a couple of years back with the
*fluid bearing* technology and the evil IBM Darkstars. True nightmare
scenarios. Lynchings were in order.

I didn't know that the Postal Service monitored these types of things.

I need a new monitor for my PC. Could you ask your postal clerk which brands
I should avoid?

Thanks.

I have a friend in Miami that had this happen to his Alesis mixer. They
told him that there is a design flaw that they are looking at -
unfortunately they must have looked at it and discontinued the mixer
cause thats where it stands now.
