After using a matched pair of Josephson C42's for almost a year, I've
come to the conclusion that they're not the right mic for me. I tend
to record intricate, low-level acoustic material for which these mics
are a bit too noisy and bright to my ear (when used with a Hardy M1
preamp w/output transformer option).

Chris, since you're not too fond of the C-42's, let me know if you want to
sell 'em... I've been considering a pair. I work with mostly rock stuff, so
unless the self-noise is indeed startlingly high, they'd prolly work fine
for me.
