I tend to record intricate, low-level acoustic material for which these mics are a bit too noisy and bright to my ear (when used with a Hardy M1 preamp w/output transformer option). Chris, since you're not too fond of the C-42's, let me know if you want to sell 'em... I've been considering a pair. I work with mostly rock stuff, so unless the self-noise is indeed startlingly high, they'd prolly work fine for me. Neil Henderson |
