Default What's similar to GarageBand for mac?

That I can use on a stand alone windows xp pc? I'm looking for software
that I can plug my keyboard & mic into & add percussion as well as
other instrumentation. Not really into looping but I'd like to try it.

I'd recommend Cakewalk's Home Studio (or another of their products if you're
"geared" to a specific type of music). Hard to beat for price and features:
