Hi everybody,
I am a wannabe computer dj ;-) To do so, I have bought a serious mixer (Pioneer DJM-600) which I want to use to mix tracks coming from my computer's hard disk. To do so I need two soundcards (choice I'm trying to avoid) or a multichannel one. I am told that Terratec Phase is a good start: do you agree? Should I buy Phase 22 or 28? My real question is: are these cards really multichannel? I need to use them as they would be two in one: that's to say that I can play two (say) winamps at once, each one playing on a different output channel that will enter my mixer separated from the other. To do this I must be able to instruct one winamp to exit through "device 1", and the other through "device 2" even if the two of them are physically on the same card. Obviously a gamer's audio card can't do this: I can play 2 different songs on two different winamps, but they exit through the same output already mixed. Do these Terratec cards satisfy this need or the multiple outputs they have are only capable of carring one and only audio stream to different places? I hope I have stated the problem clearly, thank you very much. Francesco "Crusader" |
