Beautiful work! What are the details? And it looks like you have two
models? One in the Tascam rack and a smaller self contained one? Are the circuits/boards your own design or are they kits that you put into your own hardware? I think I saw a Curtis chip on one board, do you have a good source for those? Best of luck! John L Rice "R. Foote" wrote in message om... Are the circuits/boards your own design or are they kits that you put into your own hardware? I think I saw a Curtis chip on one board, do you have a good source for those? Best of luck! John L Rice Thanks! Here are the modules: The top box: 3- VCO 3- VCF The middle box: 3- ADSR 3- LFO 2- VCA 1- Noise (White, Pink and LF) 2- 1X3 to 1X6 Normalled Mults 2- 4X1 Audio / CV mixer The bottom box: 2- Sample / Hold 2- Lag Processor 4- Buffered attenuator 2- +5 vdc Bias source 2- -5 vdc Bias source 2- Level shifters (converts +/- 5v signals to 0-5v signals) 1- 4X2 Audio mixer with headphone out on front panel and 2 balanced XLR outs on the rear. I designed all the PCB's and had most made to order. I re-designed the VCO's, the Sample/Holds, but designed pretty much everything else. The smaller box pic is the top box you see in the rack.. Here are a couple of PCB pics: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2.../VCO_Small.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...oise_Small.jpg There are Curtis chips and plain monolithic stuff. A few transistors to boot. Back in the late '70s, Doug Curtis helped me with design specifics on the VCOs and VCAs. Best |

RF,
Here are some links to pics. Awesome. Congratulations. I know that must have been a *huge* amount of work. --Ethan |

How'd she sound? Sounds good. A lot better than the old version. Here I used hi-quality pots, jacks and switches. Polypropylene caps for all the films, Panasonic FC for all electrolytics. 1% metal film resistors also. It is DC coupled throughout except the final mixer, which has a freq response of 10hz- 100khz. The old version used Alpha pots, cheap open frame phone jacks and whatever caps and resistors my local surplus dealer had. I was a lot more careful in the electronic design on the newer one too. I bought the Curtis chips in 1978, but I would like to get more. Haven't searched around for a source yet... Any suggestions? |

You should post this to the various DIY analog synth sites as well. Looks
great, super clean work, congrats. Scott Fraser |

I haven't purchased from them but this place seems to have a large stock of
Curtis chips, in addition to making some really nice looking modular synths : http://www.synthtech.com/cems.html John L Rice "R. Foote" wrote in message om...
