I am selling one of microphones and I figured I would post it here
before putting the thing on ebay. The mic is a Neumann model KM 86i (KM-86i , KM86i). - The mic is essentially a KM 83i , and KM 84i and a KM 85i all wrapped into one mic. - It is a small diaphram condenser microphone with three position patterns and a -10db pad switch. - The serial number is 45425 - I believe it was made in the 60's or 70's. I am still trying to research that. - Physically its in decent shape - but not great. - Sound wise - it's perfect. Everything works just fine. Here are some pictures of the actual mic: http://www.minga.com/austin/neumann/ Price: $950 OBO - Plus shipping/insurance! Location: Austin TX - USA Method of payment: Cash/Check/Money Order/PayPal/Cashiers Check Contact: (Dont reply to this post!) -------------------- Here are some pictures of the same mic (only newer) http://www.dcaudiovisuel.com/images/...ann_km86_1.jpg http://www.danalexanderaudio.com/Mic...n/NeuKM86i.jpg Information: http://www.dcaudiovisuel.com/product...products_id/48 http://www.danalexanderaudio.com/neumann.html http://www.arts.arizona.edu/studio/mics/86.html (All Technical Details Here) Freq. Responces and Polar Patterns available he http://www.dcaudiovisuel.com/redirec...e/files_id/514 or http://www.danalexanderaudio.com/Mic...n/NeuKM86i.jpg Mic is 200 ohms - but can be converted to 50 ohms by soldering connections on the output transformer. All three patterns (omni, figure 8 and cardioid work). The switch is a little tricky to operate though. But I got the hang of it after a while. The 10db pad switch works as well. This mic requires phantom power.
