It's time to replace the Schadow switches in our Sound Workshop Series 30.

Digi Key carries the ITT/Cannon/C&K F-series and also the E-switch
TA-series. They appear to be equivalent.

Is one of the brands more reliable than the other?

Are the gold plated switches better than the silver plated or just more
expensive?

As a general rule, gold-plated switch contacts last longer for very
low signals, like audio.
Silver contacts are capable of switching higher currents, like light
bulbs and power supplies, and last longer in those applications. In
audio, they tend to tarnish and become intermittent.
C&K F-series are very reliable. I've never used E-Switch, so I can't
say anything about them.
Schadow was bought by ITT some time ago, if I'm not mistaken.

Thank you Mike.

Perhaps I'll go for the goldplated ones in the most critical positions.
