You're always right! It wasn't a ATM11 but a ATM11R...

Doas someone know something about an Audio Technica ATM11? I had a chance
to
use one on a HH and it was terrific but I can't find it on internet...
It's one of their earliest mics, an electret condenser, cardioid,
designed for "instrument" use. It's powered by a AA battery. They also
made an ATM11R which had a little smoother top end (according to the
ad copy and graph - don't know if it's noticable in real life) and is
phantom powered.
Retail price on the ATM11 in 1981 was $120. It's a good microphone to
accept as a gift, but I wouldn't go out of my way to hunt one up
unless it's really cheap, like under $50. Any mic that's useful for
something is worth $50.
