I`m offering a matched pair of german vintage condenser microphones from the eastern german manufacturer Gefell / RFT which was the eastern Neumann company. The pair comes as a complete stereo set with all components! The microphone amp is the MV-691 which is similar to the MV-690 and MV-692 (apart from its filter & pad). With the M94 cardioid capsule this combination is also similar to the western Neumann KM84 . Its the same analogy as with the eastern tube M582 / M92a and the western KM54 or KM53 and KM56 . This set includes: 2 x MV 691 condenser mic amp (nearby serial numbers !) 2 x M94 nickel cardioid pattern capsule (advanced version of the M70 which is the small diaphragm version of the legendary M7 from the U47 ) 2 x Gefell microphone box 2 x Gefell microphone cable 1 x N691 double PSU (similar to N690 and N692 ) incl. original box 2 x Tuchel to XLR output cable + Extra`s: MV 691 schematics MV 692 manual M 94 data sheet N 691 manuals / schematics Option: A matching 115V / 230V converter for using the item in the US can be provided for additional $ 30,-. On the mic body (amp) you can also use the following capsules: M58 M69 M70 M73 M93 and large diaphragms: UM70 M71 . The condition: The mics are in a technically good shape and have just been checked by a technician. The external condition is noit that good. The housing has some rust. But its quite easy to put off the mic housing and refinish it. I prefered to let them original. The sound: Here it comes, the typically warm and fat Neumann vintage sound. If you like the sound of U47 U67 U87 KM54 KM84 KM184 you will be satisfied with this nice set. The M94 capsule is the advanced version of the M70 and has a high frequency increase of 5dB. Its the best choice for accoustic guitar but I`m very happy with using them also for overhead. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * The great bargain: The company Microtech Gefell (Neumann follower) asks $ 660,- for one new M94 capsule. The MV692 costs $ 537,-. A comparable power supply amounts to $ 405,-, comparable cables $ 202,- each. So you would pay alltogether $ 3.203,-. See the Microtech Gefell website. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Some technical facts: Frequency response 40-18.000 Hz. Directional characteristic: cardioid Impedance: 200 ohms Distortion factor: 0,5 % Mamimum output: 220 mV Signal-to-noise-ratio: 107 dB |
