Default API question

Hi. I have an API lunchbox with a couple of API 550B EQs (among other
lunchbox modules that I swap out depending on the session).

I am wondering if it is normal for signal to drop slightly when the
unit is in bypass (or when the EQ is engaged with no attenuation or
augmentation on any of the frequency bands).

We have not measured this signal drop precisely and scientifically,
but I would estimate it's about 3dB or thereabouts.

Is this normal or do we need to get our modules to API for servicing?
We are about an hour's drive away from them so it wouldn't be too much
of a hassle.

Thanks, in advance, for your response.
