Ok, thanks again guys

I thoroughly checked out the gear this time and noted that it DID NOT look
as good as initially thought. May have worked but I did not even test beyond
power up 'cause I didn't want to deal, what to me looked liked dirty and ill
maintained gear. I opened the cover of the 80-8 and there was lots of dust
and the heads had gunk on it etc ....... The Studer's counter did not work
and neither did the VU meter lamps.

Yeah, I passed on this "deal" .......

Makes me wish though that new open reels were still made but did not cost an
arm and a leg!
