Default Adobe Audition Help Please!!!!!!!!!

I am currently using Adobe Audition to just create little songs that
pop into my head. I wanted to know if there is a way to lay down a
track, and then listen to that track and play over the top of it,
creating two tracks that play together. Almost like a 'MultiTrack'
HA!. There has to be a way I just cannot figure it out. Can anyone
offer any help?

Thank you,
Adam

Note also that it is rather dependent on the audio hardware
on your computer.

Are you in "edit view", or have you switched to "multitrack view"? Is it 1.0 or
1.5? If you get yourself in multitrack view, you should be fine. Mind you, you
will nee a full duplex audio card, but most recent ones should be fine.

You may also have to enable:
'multi-client audio' and/or 'monitor during playback' in
device mgrsound, video,(etc) controllerspropertiessettings
depending on you sound card.

Which OS ? Which audio I/O ?
