Due to my lack of experience, I was unsure how I was going to get
paid...but I did log all my hours for travel, set-up and recording (I
recorded the entire show two consecutive nights to harddrive). I was
completely OK with using this experience as a learning experience on
what to do and what not to do. I was planning to negotiate with the
different people depending on what came from the project. The entire
project essentially became a sleeper, which is fine, until I got the
call from Mr. Video wanting a copy of my audio for his own purposes.

I still have no idea how much to charge Mr. Video to use my audio in
his promotional video that he is being paid to do (not sure how much
he is being paid).

Who's ultimately paying for the project? Is this going to be a demo
for the comedian or for the video guy? Either way, since this has
obviously been dormant long enough so that you don't feel stiffed, I'd
suggest that you offer it "on spec." Let him use the audio for no cost
up front, but make a deal that will get you a paying gig if the
project results in one. Also, if the owner (presumably the commedian)
decides to sell the video, make an agreement that you'll get a cut,
maybe a dollar a copy up to about double what you think you should
have been paid for your work.

If you just name a figure, no matter what it is, you're bound to be
wrong. Either it'll be too low or too high and you'll either screw
yourself unknowingly or you'll kill what might be a worth while
demo project that might get you some further work.
