Default my ideal mp3 making software

hi, maybe you can help.
I'd like a program that offers the following..if there is one.
1. rips cds at 320kbs
2. mp3 sound recorder/editor w/ the ability to mix in other mp3s like how you
can 'mix w/ file' with the windows 'sound recorder'
I want to do this to insert movie clips into songs.
I'm looking to maintain top recording quality.
3. convert wav to mp3 at high qualtity

I can do these things now w/ my free stuff (wavelab, realplayer, nero, music
match) but at a lower sound quality.
real player only goes up to 128kbs when copying cds
i don't mind spending a few bucks...
do i get a premium upgrade of realplayer or media player? or should I buy some
kind of software from the store?

First you need to get out of MP3 and get into full audio for quality.

CDs are ripped at about 1.4 mbps and if you are going to postprocess you should leave them in that uncompressed WAV format.

2. mp3 sound recorder/editor w/ the ability to mix in other mp3s like how you

Get rid of the MP3 anything until the last step.

3. convert wav to mp3 at high qualtity

LAME, callable from many free frontends but also Wavelab or just about any other audio app out there these days.

Wavelab will do all of this.

You can't insert move clips into MP3s. MP3 is audio only.

Not true, MP3 is actually an audio part of the MPEG video standard. But you
don't insert movie clips into MP3, you insert MP3 audio into MPEG movie
files.

Yes, it's MPEG 1 Layer 3. Wich is an audio layer. Wich means it audio only.

Also: When talking about MP3 files, one normally means a file that *only*
contains MP3 data and no video.

Now you're just getting silly. Of course it's the audio part of a video
standard, that's what I said!

Exactly, and the OP said he wanted to insert video. However he has since
clarified what he meant.
