Default Sending Stems out a first...

I swapped out a few hours time at a friend's studio so I brought my meager
rig(PC/001 & Nuendo) with me to experiment sending out stereo busses to his
board & goof around with that...no summing in or out flamewars - just wanted to
try it. I sent out 4 stereo analog pairs & tried to send out 4 pair from the
ADAT/Litepipe thingy. We were sending that into that TDIF/Litepipe converter
box
into an armed DA 88 out into the board. Didn't have much luck with that. I
matched up the 44/16ness of it all and we could hear it & see it on the board
but
it was going on & off....clock issue perhaps, I have no idea what the problem
was - operator error no doubt. I abandoned that quick & went back to the 4
stereo analog pairs out. I was curious if Lightpipe & the analog outs arrive at
the same time.

Bottomline, even though it was a Mackie 32/8 I definitley do enjoy pushing
faders - when you crank the vocals up - it cranks without distorting....the
headroom issue perhaps, I dunno. I did a bunch of little experiments, nothing
scientific so I don't know if it sounds wider or not. I'm thinking it might. I
know 3d audios CD is supposed to dispell the myth yet lots of people doing it.
